Leaving a Green Legacy
The Phoenix Local Organizing Committee is committed to mitigating the environmental impact of hosting the 2024 Men’s Final Four and creating a green legacy in the community. These objectives are addressed through teamwork between the host committee, municipalities, and non-profit organizations. Together, we will make an impact that lasts long after the semifinals and championship games are played.
Community Greenings
Several community greening projects will take place around Arizona in the weeks and months leading up to the 2024 Men’s Final Four. These projects could include increasing pollinator habitats, planting trees, building community gardens, beautification efforts, and more.
Waste Diversion
Waste from Men’s Final Four events and venues, including Phoenix Convention Center, Hance Park, Downtown Phoenix and State Farm Stadium will be diverted from the landfill.
Food Recovery
Extra food from events during the week of Men’s Final Four will be collected and donated to local non-profits. This will be in partnership with Waste Not (perishable), United Food Bank and St. Mary’s Food Bank (non-perishables).

Material Recovery
Reusable materials including décor, carpet, signs, lumber, and other items, will be collected after events the week of Final Four and donated locally for reuse and repurposing. We will work with Men’s Final Four event managers along with valley non-profits to determine the needs and distribution.
Keep Phoenix Beautiful
The Phoenix Local Organizing Committee will also be supporting Keep Phoenix Beautiful’s upcoming iRecycle Phoenix Events taking place February 17, March 16 and April 6.
The community is invited to drop off used electronics, bikes, food, clothing, books, office supplies, school supplies, furniture and more, to avoid them going to the landfill.
